The West Shore Country Club
West Shore Country Club is constantly sought as championship venue by the Pennsylvania Golf Association.  West Shore recently hosted the prestigious Art Wall Invitational, the PA Golf Association Senior Championship, the PA Women’s Golf Association Amateur Championship, as well as several US Open Sectional Qualifiers and USGA Amateur Championship Qualifiers.

The course was first opened in 1928 as a nine-hole course designed by Scotsman George Morris whose great uncle was none other than Old Tom Morris of St. Andrews fame. In the 1940s the additional nine holes and all green complexes were completed by head pro Ed Tabor who studied classic eastern golf courses of Dick Wilson, designer of several famous Pinehurst courses and Wilmington Country Club; and, William Flynn, designer of Whitemarsh Valley and Lancaster CC and who played a role in the design of Merion Golf Club.

In 2003, then unknown, but now world renown golf course architect Gil Hanse redesigned West Shore’s bunker complexes and opened vistas by removing hundreds of pine trees. Players will experience touches of all these great course designers when playing the West Shore Country Club. For more information, go here.
